Just wondering if I can add Kalkwasser to a waterchange?(5gal) instructions say 1/8 - 2 tablespoon to a gallon but thats to dose it.
Would it be safe to half dose?

I need to get my calcium up and hoping this would work?

You can but it's not the greatest means of supplimentation. In your case though it won't help. Kalk raises both alkalinity and Ca equally so the imbalance will remain. You need to focus on adding a Ca only product until the levels are correct. If approaching this from a water change aspect, tweek the change water with a CaCl additive to balance the levels and then use the kalk by dripping at night into the tank. Kalk should only be used once the levels are balanced as a means of maintenance.

Cheers
Steve

Be careful though sometimes mixing salt water to Kalk water will cause chemical reactions to take place, making a while new mixture, many times you will see stuff begin to precipitate out, if this happens, you have ruined the mixture.
