Can I use this on Salt water?

And what would be the REAL benefits?

You could use it occassionally (water polishing) but I would recommend against continual use. Diatom filters will literally strip the water of all nutrient.

Cheers

I was hoping that I could just stick it on and let er rip. When you occassionally, how long could I let it run on a 150 gal tank before damage to the eco system?

You could run it a couple of times a month or weekly depending on how messy your fish are but more would become damaging. There is definately such a thing as too clean. If a well stocked reef, I would be wary of using one at all.

Cheers
