whats the light requirements for capnella and clavularia, will photoplankton do fine as food?

Both will do well if kept under PC or VHO depending on depth and light intensity. Some say they prefer very strong light but I have found the opposite, it really depend on the exact type. When under MH, some will stay tightly contracted unless lower while others may thrive. They will also benefit somewhat from the DT's but are also a candidate for zooplankton and blender mush.
