Caulerpa

My neighbor has a reef tank and has a VERY thick patch of caulerpa growing and has been for the past year or two. They regularly trim it and it looks great to be honest. Why do most people not like this stuff? I'm considering introducing to my tank. I would assume it works wonders controlling nitrates and phosphates as aggressive as it is...

If its not properly maintained and trimmed it can go sexual and release nitrates as well as infest your display tank.

How long should I wait to see my algae dissipate? I have a 55g Reef Setup with mostly softies.
