I have been having a bit of troubles with hair algae in my display tank and Have started a fuge with Chaeto in it.. I was wondering If Its possible to leave the lights on in the fuge 24/7 to help the chaeto grow and stop out my hair algae or would this be a bad thing for the chaeto.. Right now its in a 10g fuge with 2x40w NO daylight bulbs I believe they are 40w They are marineland 18" t8 bulbs

TIA

my sump/fuge has lights 24/7....I have chaeto, prolifera, feather, grape and halimeda...nothing is bothered by it.

I don't think 18" NO bulbs come in 40W, but I may be wrong, but cheato will grow in near dark conditions. It is the least light demanding macro I have found. Either way 24/7 lighting shouldn'y be an issue at all.

I will run it 24/7 and see just how well it does..
