i've got a couple of large mutha hermit crabs who do a wonderful job of cleaning the bottom of the tank however i'm thinking of getting a cleaner shrimp to take care of the fishies. what's the verdict - will the crabs do him in? they're pretty tough guys...

I doubt they would go after a cleaner shrimp, unless they were really big and really hungry.

Besides, I don't think they could catch a shrimp anyway.

Yeah, Cleaner shrimp are Fast! The only crab i've ever seen fast enough to probably catch a Cleaner shrimp is maybe a Sally Lightfoot, but the cleaner shrimp can swim, and the Sally Lightfoot can't.

...and even if a crab got ahold of the shrimp's leg or something, the shrimp would just drop the leg and be gone.

I agree that the hermits would not be able to catch the shrimp. Not enough speed and quickness.
