cloudy water

When I look at my tank from the front, the water looks fairly clear. However when I look through it from side to side (tank is 30") I can still see the things on the outside of the tank on the other side but not very clearly. At my LFS when I look through their tanks, it is as if there is no water in them at all. How can I make my water like that?? I am running a basic wet dry. I rinse the pre-filter sponge in the over flow every few days with hot tap water, and the sponge in the wet dry when ever I do a water change with the discarded tank water.

I want crystal clear water!!! (don't we all) HELP!!!

I just went through the same thing, get some carbon in your water flow somehow. I sit mine on top of the filter. Crystal clear in less than a day. I struggled with this for more than a month before being turned onto the fix.
