cloudy water?

hi, im new and just setting up a 65gal soon to be reef tank. all i have in the tank now are the basics. heater, skimmer, 2 powerheads, fluval 404 filter. there is no live stock or substrate yet, just salt water.
i had everything running for a couple of days just fine, but when i hooked up the filter the water got cloudy and has been for a couple of days.
i washed the biorings and carbon real good before adding it to the filter.
after i put the lr in do you think the water will clear up? anysuggestions welcome. thanx.

When I put the live rock in my tank it was a little clody not really bad. But when I put My Live Sand in it was really bad. It took alway to go away a day or so.
