A friends clown is just not acting himself. He has been at the bottom of the tank and not as active as he should be. He looks like he is breathing rapidly. What could cause this? I was thinking gill flukes.....

what are the tank levels? ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate?

i have had freshwater platys act like this before. i do believe it is some kind of baCTERIAL infection or internal parasites, because my water has always been checked out and is always kept in the safe zones.

There are multiple things that could be causing this, heavy breathing is often a result of ammonia poisoning but not always.
