ok, I know colombian sharks are naturally brackish fish, and that in adulthood they require sw conditions..

question, would they tolerate sw conditions as a youth ? or should I wait till they approach mature size to place them in the tank ?

This species of catfish does like higher salinities but they should not be kept at "full" SW salinities AFAIK. You would basically be setting up a tank for just them in the long run. I would suggest they stay in a brackish environment (although at the higher end) but not in a SW community tank.

From what I understand, they also get rather large and are not above dining on smaller tank mates.

Cheers
Steve
