I read on the ReefCentral webpage about someone starting coral from fragments. It seems like a really neat way to grow coral if you aren't into instant gratification. Is this commonly done? Are there any special challenges associated with this? Where would someone purchase fragments like that? I have only seen full pieces at my lfs. Thanks in advance for any help.:?

Culturing corals from your existing stock can be done quite easily and is very beneficial to reef conservation. Captive cultivated corals are also usually much hardier than wild caught.

>>Here<< is a good article to get you started. Anonther good reference site is Garf.org

Cheers
