it isn't going to grow like an inch a day or anything. but the best thing to help it grow is to give it good water flow, plenty of calcium and moderate lighting.

Only to add a little to what kribbz posted, you want to maintain CA at or above 400 ppm and have a balanced alk of 10-12 DKH.
