Curing rock

Hey guys, I live in Florida and recently picked up some really neat pieces of limestone that i would like to cure. Right now they have sat in a rubbermade with fresh water for 2 weeks with an airstone and yesterday I have drained that and added water from my water change. How long and is there any recommendations from you all that do to get this stuff ready to put in my tank?

i would be concerned about heavy metals. how can you be sure it wont leach out anything? (i say this wondering how strict the guidelines are on live rock sales...and do they really check to see if the rock they harvest is good...or is it a crapshoot.)
