cycling tank with LR

i just received the last piece of equipment that i needed to get my aquarium going in the mail a couple of days ago. unfortunately when the CF lighting got here it didn't work, so now i have to ship it back and then get it from the company again. Do i really need lighting when cycling the tank with live rock. i will be getting the lighting in 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, will i really need it or will i be fine just to start cycling the tank till the lighting gets here?

I would not think you need the light for the cycle.

Should not be a problem short term. Your coralline colors may fade but other than that I do not know of anything negative.
