Hey all,

In our 55g tank we are wanting to get a Diamond Watchman Goby (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=220) and a Scooter Blenny (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=96). Will they get along together?

I understand the Diamond Watchman Goby is a sand sifter, which I understand is good for the sand bed as it keeps it turned all the time?

The other occupants will be: 1 Fire shrimp, 1 CC star fish, 1 camel shrimp, 2 cleaner shrimp, 2 percula clown fish, 1 copper banded butterfly, and 1 dwarf angel. As well as several small craps and possibly snails.

Thanks,

-TheChad

The watchman and scooter should be just fine together. They are not in any direct competition for food and territory.

Yes, sand sifters are very good for the sandbed. They sift for food debris trapped in the sand so therefore keep the substrate clean and help keep waste to a minimum.

Here are some pointers for the future tank population....

If you plan on having any type of coral, the CC star is a :nono: no no.

It's best to wait at least six months after the tank has been cycled to introduce angels and butterfly fish. Also make sure to feed them special angel and butterfly foods. This food has sponge in it and allows them access to some type of coral protein...which is a must for longevity.

Enjoy :D

What is a special butterfly food? Right now i feed the copperbanded butterfly Brine and Mysis shrimp.

We don't plan on having any coral. Just LR.

P.S. Why six months for the butterfly and angel?

Thanks,

Either of the two would be suitable to add into the butterfly fish diet and of course angels.

These animals are sensitive to captive life and not just angels and butterfly fish, but tangs too seem to do better if the tank is given a chance to mature longer before introduing them. The more mature the system is, the more stable it is.
