Diatom algae bloom

My tank is 1 month old today and the brown algae is taking over. Is this normal? I also have some green algae growing to. Please help!

Ok thanks. Any idea on how long this will last? I just recently purchased some hermit crabs and turbo snails. Will this help\hurt the cycle?

Depends. Did you use tap water? Mine was a month. I still have a little. Went to RO water and that helped a lot. The snails and crabs should actually help eat it so a good thing.
