Eco-System 40 HOT System

I have an itch in my pants to add an Eco-System 40 HOT to my 55gl tank... Currently have 10gallon Wet/Dry, 55lbs LR, 30lbs LS, Poor Lighting on main tank that will need to be upgraded before coral and other photosynthetic inverts are added, Any thoughts on the Eco-System 40 on a 55 as a suplimental?

Also would a new 150 (old 5'x2'x2' demension) tank/stand/hood be considered a good deal at $500?
