I have a 130W CoralLight (65W 10K and 65W actinic) for a 30G. I was wondering if i could get a small clam in there. Any idea if i have enuf light for one?

Thanks

I believe clams are very light intensive and need MH lights.

I've got the same light on my 29 gallon, and I'm going to upgrade to T5 lights just so I can keep a clam. T5's work fine for clams, in addition to MH lights.

Here's a link to a T5HO light fixture:

If you get T5's, make sure they are T5HO, High Output. Normal T5 don't put out that much light. But the HO lights put out a ton of light for the watts the consume. The bulbs in that fixture are 24 watts each, but could easily support clams in a 29 gallon tank. They don't burn up much electricity, and stay much cooler than PC's or VHO lights.
