Awesome find Eric!!!! Unfortunately my dumb Irish luck will never let me find ANYTHING like this...lol.. can't wait to see the progress

Received the salty underground order today and all but one frag look great!

I contacted them about the one doa and they responded quickly with the option to get a credit or send another frag of same coral.

Here are the frags:

A couple acros, a pink monti digi, birdsnest, and a blasto- the bleached one is a tabling acro

I also got a gfo reactor from brs so I will be hooking that up tomorrow, hopefully nip this hair algae issue.

Yes a purple stylo as well. Im very pleased with the corals and the customer service so I opted for the credit. They have free shipping on orders over $75 so I plan on getting another few more frags.

Thanks! Yes its a 2000int and living up to its reputation. The one downside is it is rather loud- not water splashing but the air intake.

I decided the bird wrasse had to go. It was tough because he (or she) is a really cool fish with a great personality. Ultimately, though, I want to be able to have hermit crabs and small shrimp in the tank. The straw that broke the camels back was the other day I added sone margarita snails and the wrasse went after them like a rabid dog.

So I was talking to my neighbor Jeff, a fellow reefer, and he told me that he is keeping his 300 setup (recently he down sized to a 120) as a fowlr aggressive tank. He also had a trap that I could use to get the wrasse. This is great because I'll still get to see it!

Of course the clown fish went down into the trap immediately-

After about ten minutes or so he finally went in and we got him... along with three other fish.

In return I got some coral! Here is Jeff's tank.

I got a nice favia, meteor shower, some rasta, green, and red zoas, a Miami hurricane chalice, and a birdsnest. [emoji2]

Is Lisa treating you ok with that doa hope she treats you better than she did me.
she gave me a hard time about a doa wall hammer $80. loss on my part
I don't think she realized how much I do spend on my tank so she lost a good account ,
glad to see you got some nice pieces , tank looks to be coming along too (y)

Well they responded to my initial email right away and offered to send a new one or give a credit to my account. I opted for the credit but have not yet used it so we will see what the outcome is.

PO4- now down to .012 so algae growth should slow.

I am still not quite dialed in with the dosing. Tests yesterday showed alk at 10.5 dkh and cal at 540. I would like alk at 11-12 and calcium around 420-440 so I unplugged the cal doser but left alk on. I need to get another digital timer so I can program it for every other day.

Corals seem OK with the situation. Here is a top down shot of an anemone, green and red monti caps, duncan, and a war coral.

Hey everyone- the tank is doing great and I hope I can say that in 3 days as we are in the cone for a potential direct hit from Hurricane Irma. Getting pretty crazy down here, I am a native Floridian and there are a lot of folks I know who have been through some pretty serious storms who have evacuated. I am staying- we have a generator and 50 gals of gas and about 20 gal of fresh water. I am also going to fill my wc bucket up with fresh water as well (giving the bucket a good scrub lol) just in case. Asking all reefer friends to just send a prayer/ thought/ positive vibes that this thing turns east into the Atlantic or at least weakens substantially before it reaches us. Will keep you posted-

Thanks Brookster!

We were pretty lucky, no real damage and didn't lose power when 80% of the residents in our county lost power. Sadly those in the keys and some parts of sw FL cannot say the same. This storm was so big that we registered 90 mph gusts while the eye was over 150 miles away!

As for the fish tank, the mandarin has gotten into the overflow box and because of the plumbing I cant get a net down there. Suggestions on getting him out are greatly appreciated.
