If I got a 10 gallon nano-reef, I am thinking about getting a large aqua-clear filter, which should give me all the water flow I need and since these have large media compartments, it could double as a sump, or even a refuge if I decide not to run it. I was thinking about gettting one of the larger ones and running it on low or however powerful I need it, I already had an aqua clear mini in my freshwater 10, which I like. Is this a good idea?

Believe it or not, there is a couple comanies selling HOB filters like the AquaClear300, with a clip-on power compact 7 watt 50 50 for the use as a refugium and water flow..

hey tim, do you have any links for us, that sounds like something with
many uses..

I actually haven't seen them on the web...I believe the LFS here has them by the name of Micro-Fuge
