Yesterday, I took in a soon to be homeless clown from a buddy who was dismantling his tank. I placed him in a 6 gal. eclipse quarantine tank stocked with live rock. This afternoon, I noticed he looked a little more buoyant then normal. This evening, I found him floating at the top of the tank. I turned the tank light on and he "woke up" a little and swam around a bit but looked as if he had a hard time making gravity work with for him. He eats and swims, but keeps floating to the top of the tank. I'm wondering if he has an air bubble trapped in him someplace. Will he pass this gas or is there anything I can do for him?

Most likely it has some blockage that is affecting the swim bladder. The easiest possible solution is to mix some softened slightly mashed peas with some brine shrimp. That should allow the blockage to pass.

Cheers
Steve
