Fragment Acropora - need help

I have a medium size acro (6"x4"x4") for about three months now. It is healthy and good growth. There are few branches attached to a piece of LR on the side. Each branch has the diameter of a pencil. I like to cut that off and re-plant from the LR. Where should I cut, along the LR? cut the branches from the body? Or half to body and half to LR? What tool do I use? Will there be any problem to acro body and the LR after the cut? Thanks

Just snap it off where you want it split. This is how the coral frags in the wild. In effect all you need is 1 polyp so there is no different between the stalk and the body.
