FREE DAMSEL ??

I went to the LFS the other day and they are giving away a beautiful damsel for free - it was a blue/black velvet - not sure exactly, it was a nice large, stunning fish, but because it was free am i right in assuming that it is most probably like any other damsel - terrortorial, aggressive & not worth bothering with??

You are probably right... "terrortorial, aggressive ..." often people who can't flush return them to the LFS. They can be quite stunning too... I have considered getting one for my sons 10g because they are so hardy and not shy.

I agree that it was probably an aggression problem but, perhaps it was a size issue as well. Some damsels get pretty big. I'm not sure which one you are referring to but the blue velvet can get up to 6" and the jewel 8". Those are the two that come to mind from your description. But, most damsels need at least a 30g tank.
