Garlic causing skimmer to go crazy?

My skimmer is going crazy and spitting out water into the collection cup. Could the use of garlic have something to do with this??

Thanks,
Josh

are you soaking food in a garlic supplement, or adding it to the tank directly?
hara's right, and really anythign added in a large enough quantity will affect your skimmer, because its adding something to the water's chemistry. I know some people use melafix in their SW tank which causes the skimmer to pull out a large amount of skimmate...which is mostly the melafix they added.

The skim would hve a garlic odor if indeed it had a fair amount of garlic in it.
