Green slime

Whats the main causes of green slime? And how do you get rid of it? I have a few little spots in my 10 gallon .Ive never had this before. Theres a few spots on my sand and a few on my rocks.

Could be light spectrum, low water flow in that area and excess nutrients. I am getting spots on my LR in my 125 now that grow that green slime instead of red slime. It is easy to gt off the rocks and just syphon it out. In my case I would say its nutrients because I just put new bulbs in a few months back and the water flow is good in those areas... How often do you do water changes?

In the ten gallon i change 2 gallons every two weeks. Last week i made a change to Oceanic salt. Ive heard good things about it.
