Guess who's eating aiptasia!

My second largest spider crab, caught him a while back and put him in with some other crabs and the mantis in the 10g mantis tank. (hehe)

Anyway, my "project" white 2" wide aiptasia, the one that I was trying to grow really big in the 10g to see just how big it would get, was devoured tonight by the big skanky crab. LOL!

He ripped it clean out of the rock and gobbled it up. In the pic you can see half of the anemone in each claw. I grabbed the camera and got a pic.

hehe, yah, he's probably tearing it up enough to just spread more aiptasias anyway.

I really saw him actually chowing it down though.. it didn't look too appetizing but he was eating it little by little. By the time I got the pic it was almost gone.

Yuck!

He may have received covert training from a peppermint shrimp at some point in his career.
