Hammer coral pulled a Nemo

I just got a new Hammer for my tank. It has four heads. I set it's plastic bag on the aquarium stand and after I walked away it rolled off and landed on the floor. I put it in my tank and it seems to be opening up, not sure yet how damaged it is. Hopefully it will be ok. My question is about the little green polyp heads that broke off into the bag. If I put them in a little container with some crushed coral bits, do they have the capability to grow into full corals, or are they just going to die once they have come off the main body?

If it broke off further down it should grow just fine. But if it broke off near the polyps they may die.
