Hey all. 55 gal. Filled with (no salt) water added heater, Second Nature Acura 1000. This heater is has temp. indicator that corresponds with temp. value. I use a digital very accurate temp. gauge. I set the temp. for 78 and stayed steady for one week. (on vacation) I added my salt to 1.023, temp. climbed to 80. Is this because of the salt ? Had to turn the heater down to 75, this morning 78 and holding. Just curious if this is normal for heaters and salt.

Intereseting. I belive depending on the volume of water and the amount of salt added and how quickly it was added you can get heat generated by the chemical reactions occuring in the water as the salt and other elements are disolved. This increase in temperature should only last a few hours to day or so depending again on volume, etc. Personally I shoot for 80F anyway.
