What kind of hermits and what kind of shrimp? In most cases yes, but there are a few types of hermits that are not very nice.

rule of thumb might be the smaller the better, larger hermits usually wont bother shrimp but will attack fish. In any case u should consider smaller ones, so that way there is no concern (or at least very little)
