hermit crab hunting on the beach

Ok I'm at the Jersey shore me and my son went fishing he went hermit crab hunting on the beach and caught about 5 of them lil hermit crabs and he had a few baby clams. Little nature boy.....would it be ok to put them in my 45 reef..... Lol

Not sure but I believe you keep these guys on dry land?

He was catching them in the water.he had a blast.we let them go but I told him I'll ask on the forums to see what they say.and if they say it's ok then we will go back

Only issue I could see is disease. Maybe acclimation.... But I am by far no expert, just my opinion.
