Hermit Crab Question

I went to the tide pools in Cape Cod today and I saw a bunch of hermit crabs. I was wondering if those hermit crabs are the same as the ones that live in the tanks with no water at pet stores? I mean can they both live on dry land with no water? I hope this isnt confusing.

There is a difference between land and sea dwellilng hermit crabs

Ok thanks I have always wondered that. I did some research and found some stuff about tide pool hermits.
