The tank seems to want to sit at a Ph of 8.7. I know this is too high, yet when I try to bring it down it goes right back. The only items in the tank are some small shells, 23 lbs of liverock, 4 inches of playground sand, 2 turbo snails, 1 hermit crab, 1 tomato clown and 1 blue goby. Ammonia and nitrite are at 0.0 (this was just in case someone was going to fuss at me for getting a couple of fish already :) )

My normal well water ph is 6.4.

Any ideas on what I should do to bring the ph down and still keep the alkaline levels where they are? I did not want to have to keep using a ph down type product.

JUst a little word for the wise bexareful on how fast you bring that ph down especailly if it jumps up real fast all that up and down can cause some stress for the inverts and your fish wont like it either
