Well, to calculate ten percent of fifty five, you would multiply fifty five by .1, .2 for 20. For five percent it would be .05, and so on.

I use a kitty litter bucket... I took a gallon jug and filled the bucket with the jug. When it reached the handles it was 4 gallons. thats what I use to do water changes. So if I take 4 buckets full of water out of my tank its approx. 16 gallons.
