I bought a couple of these at my LFS after seeing them in action. I am impressed. For the $15 ea I paid, it really is like having a random wave maker.

I suspect they will need cleaning from time to time but again, for the $$ you cant beat the water movement. One thing that bothered me though is that the adapters seem to only fit round outlets. That is if you have like a AquaTech ph, the adapter won't work..

Do they require frequent cleaning?

depends on your algea growth but if you clean them off whenever you clean your powerhead you'll be straight
