Hi, I have noticed 2 bubble algae cells growing in my aquarium. I was wondering will this become a problem in the future? Should I remove them now before they get too large? Or are they something that can be kept in equilibrium in my tank?

thanks,
Chris

You can remove them by gently twisting them off the rock. Be careful not to pop them since they will release spores and seed your tank. Doing it during a water change works. Remove the rock and use a bucket of tank water to rinse the rock after removing the algae, just to be sure. Or, you can also try doing more water changes to reduce your phosphates and it may die off on it's own. This is how I got rid of mine. Takes longer than manual removal.

Ok good to know. I will have to take care of the problem before it gets out of hand.
Thanks!
Chris
