Is my Blue Tang just Shy?

HI, bought a Blue Tang yesterday to go in my tank and the little bugger won't come out from behind the powerhead. He's about 2" in size and the only other fish in the tank are 2 ocellaris clowns that are a bit smaller than him.

Is he just shy or do you think he is scared. How long will this go on for because i would love to see him swimmin round the tank in all his glory!

Send a message via MSN to Nitrate
Mine was skiddish for a month or so, and then for another year he would hide when anyone other than me walked into the room. Now he hangs out with no fear of anything. Give him time, once hes comfortable he wont hide anymore.

Yeah, just give it some time. It is just getting used to the new enviornment. Watch for signs of stress.

something that might help in the long run. when feeding sit by the tank for awhile. with time he/she will associate you with food and come swimming up to the glass in no time
