Is my Duncan Coral ok?

Ok when my Duncan was 1 headed it's tentacles were full and long. Now he sprouted 8 new heads, the new heads have thick polyps and the main duncan's tentacles are shrivled up. He still eats and all, just not as beautiful as he was. Is this normal.
