Is there such thing as over skimming?

I not really sure why my calcium and mag are low. Is this because my skimmer is rated for 150gal and I only have 55gal with 25 gal sump? My tank is not heavily stocked with corals maybe just around 35 frags and i don't have much fish. Im about to try and turn off my skimmer while im dosing to see if there is a change

Skimmers don't pull calcium and other such elements out of the water. Just poop and water. Worst that could happen is lower salinity from too much top off.

Alright thanks. I just thought big skimmer for small tanks can pull out trace Elements lol so im going to rule out big skimmer then. Just figuring what's eating up my elements so fast
