Is this too big..

http://aquariumguys.com/36outerorbit.html

I am looking at this light for a 30 Long ( 36x12.5x18 ). The problem I have is it is wider than my tank. The light dimensions are (36x15x4.25). with the legs installed it looks like its going to be longer than 36 inches. Thus ,it will not fit the top correctly. Does a nyone have any suggestion. I could hang it but I really dont want to. Is the an optimal size for a 30 gal long tank. Thanks

my question is what did you plan on putting in the tank? That is a major amount of light for a 30 gallon tank and you can have too much light......as for it fitting, it looks like the legs are right under it. I would recommend calling the vendor to make sure.

With that model there are two tracks that the legs can fit into.

Track ~> -------------------------------------------------
Light ~> ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Light ~> ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Track ~> -------------------------------------------------

The legs can be positioned anywhere in the track to fit your tank.

HTH,

Good luck!
