Hi everyone,

I've got an LED hood for my 28-gallon Nano Cube, and I wanted to get some opinions about whether the lighting it provides will be appropriate for LPS and SPS corals.

It's got:
25 3-watt daylight LEDs at 1400 K
4 3-watt dawn/dusk lights at 466 nm
2 1-watt moonlights at 456 nm

I'm wondering if this is too white for hard corals: It's only got 14 watts of actinic, right? But maybe this is okay since my tank is small?

All comments or thoughts are appreciated!

I've got the same one as well. It can handle pretty much anything you want to put under it (limited only by your water quality & flow). There's a guy on a local forum I'm on who runs his LED nano as an SPS exclusive tank, with acro, birdsnest, mille, & monti growing at all levels (but, he also has a sump system that's bigger than the tank itself)...... the lights can handle it.

Thing you need to be careful with is proper light acclimation.... these LED's can burn some corals if not introduced properly.
