Lighting Help

Hi,
I have this 18.5" long light on my tank.
Its a hex tank, and from point to point it is 18.5", and from flat side to flat side its 16".

My problem is this:
I want to build a canopy, but this light is square on the ends, and the pointed joints are pointed, not square, so the light will be a little long for a canopy that will fit.

Is there anyway I can get this to work with a canopy, or do I need a shorter one?

If it were me, I would do away with the canopy and glass tops on your tank( if you have them.) Go for a single MH pendant above the tank. Might just be a different approach to things.
