im going to be getting a pc light for my new 29 gallon tank do they give of alot of heat? will it cause a heating issue in my tank if it is on 9 hours a day sitting right above the tank? and what do you recommend for a 30 inch fixture 2 bulbs or one? how many watts etc....

pc lighting doesn't get too hot. You should be fine with that. 10,000K and an actinic would work nicely.

The bulbs do give off some heat. You definatly dont want to grab ahold of a bulb thats been on for more than 30 minutes. The affect on the water temperature will be fairly minimal as comapred to other types of lighting. Running the tank with out a glass cover is often enough to keep the temp in control. If you must you can also mount a small fan in the canopy to blow out hot air.
