I have a 55 gallon FW glass tank that has recently been taken down to start a new sw FOWLR tank. What can i use to help clean the lime deposits and prepare it for sw? Thank you for your suggestions to a newbee!

Welcome to AA!!

Is the whole tank covered in lime deposits?

I use vinegar to soak my equipment when I get calcification deposits on it. Obviously you couldn't pour 55 gallons of vinegar into a 55 gallon tank, but it may give you some ideas.

Have you tried scraping it off with a razor blade?

I think I'll try puttin some water and vinegar in a spray bottle... letting it sit for a few minutes and then maybe following up with a razor blade if needed. Thanks for the info.

i used very finest grade steel wool and water.. sounds harsh, but it really isnt bad.. Works great. Just rinse well after
