It depends how much die off the rock has. It could be minimal or catastrophic . For piece of mind put it in a tub with a powerhead and heater and cycle it in there.
 
Test the water for ammonia and nitrite just like you would your tank while it cycles. Pretty much the same thing.
 
or even longer. a normal cycle can take up to a month or more, depending on how much stuff needs to decompose and be processed.
 
I use 5 gallon buckets for waterchanges and top offs. As long as iv got it airated and kept at the right temp it can just sit in the saltwater in those? Or should I put it in somthing a little bigger like my QT tank?
