I Bought a tank that came with 150 lbs of live rock the guy had the power off on the tank for light and pumps so the the rock has been in the watter with eveything dead is the rock salvageable? what should i do with it? i inted to put it in another tank with filter and let it run for awile
thanks

Yeah mix up some new saltwater and place the water, rock, and a powerhead into a bucket or rubbermaid. Check your levels and do some water changes untill everything is zero. If you are putting it into and established tank do this. If you are putting it into a new talk put it in right away and it will kick-start your cycle.

I agree, it will once again become LR, after time.

I would still give it a quick scrub if there is any macro-particles of nastiness. Just to avoid making your new display dirty. Especially the new clean sandbed.

Don't do a water change until your NH4 and NO2 is gone.

I had rock in a tub with no water for over a year that I threw into my 29G when I started it. After the cycle, it was right as rain.
