I bought a house that has a basement, which means more space, which means I can take my RO filter out from under the sink and I can send the DI water into a decent sized container for water changes. I guess most people with this setup use some type of float valve.

I was filling up 5 gallon containers every couple of days so that I had enough water for the (65 gallon tank) water changes every week. NO MORE!!!

Any suggestions for an effective, inexpensive float valve?

You can get float valves off ebay real cheap. I just wired mine into a cheap extension cord so it will run the top off pump when called for.
