It's not hard to raise mag, your just using a product that is somewhat weak. According to the directions, 1ml per gallon of tank water will raise the mag 26ppm. How big is your tank?

29 gallons with an Eshopps 75 sump, 35 lbs LR, 30 lbs LS. Maybe suggest a better product? Also am getting a different test kit today to double check. Thinking of trying the Salifert.

So doing a little math, if it takes 1ml/gal to raise mag 26ppm, it will take 4ml/gal to raise it 104ppm. In a 30g tank, you have to add 120ml to raise it 104ppm which would take you to 1254.

What brand salt do you use and whats your salinity?

Thanks everyone for your input. Figure I'll be dosing mag at 30 ml a day and at the end of the week should be around 1250 or so (26 ppm a day increase). Also thinking of just switching to IO and just adjust the make up water since I'm dosing anyway and it's a lot cheaper.

Just curious what are the nitrate and phosphate levels in the salts
