My magnesium used to be 1420-1460. For the last couple weeks it has been right around 1600. I don't dose mag or anything else for that matter. I've been told that having magnesium at 1600 is ok. Is this true?
Calcium is at 400
Phosphate is almost 0
pH is 8.2
dKh is 9
Salinity 1.023
Ammonia, Nitrates, Nitrites all 0.
Mixed reef, no SPS.

It's fine. What would raise it this high anyway? Do you think your test kit could be off? What salt mix are you using?

I don't know what could have raised it. I buy saltwater from LFS. If I am not mistaken they use Real Ocean brand (Petco?). My kit could be off. I will try again in couple days. Magnesium test is a pain. Lol

IMO, don't even bother wasting your test kit. Just do your weekly water changes, feed reasonably, and enjoy your tank.
