I am in the process of getting a mh system and am wondering what is better the magnetic or electronic ballast. They say the magnetic ballast hums when operating. Is it very loud or can you barely hear it? The magnetic are cheaper so I am wondering who is running the magnetic and if they wished they would have gone with the electronic. Thanks

well ive read and read about this !
magnetic will run hotter but will power the bulb better along with making the life of the bulb shorter ! also will cost more for electricity !
electric pros are run cooler and at anytime ya want to go hqi ya can ! were magnetic ya cant do hqi
