Mix and match

Could you take a piece of a gold tip hammer coral and a green tip hammer coral together so that when they grow you get a mixture of the two? Would one destroy the other?

This family of corals, hammer, torch, or frogspawn, don't care about being near each other. Color of any doesn't matter.
